Ring in the New Year at Walt Disney World

This Trick is all about spending New Year’s Eve and Day at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Details:

New Year’s Eve is one of, if not the, busiest days at Walt Disney World. With an incredible display of fireworks at 2 different parks, it can seem impossible to view them all!

Tricks:

I have many tricks for navigating the intense, filled-to-capacity, New Year’s Eve, parks. First up is how to see the special New Year’s Eve firework spectaculars at Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Magic Kingdom shows their fireworks on December 30th and New Year’s Eve so beat the crowds by attending Fantasy in the Sky on December 30th at 6:30 PM or 11:50 PM. Then, on New Year’s Eve, head over to Epcot for either the 11:50 PM or the 6:30 PM showing of Illuminations: Reflections of Earth Special Holiday Finale. If you attend the 6:30 PM showing at Epcot, you can head on over to Disney Springs and experience all that they have to offer from great restaurants and live bands to shopping and champagne toasts!

New Years Day is a great day to visit the water parks! They are typically empty due to many tourists headed home on New Year’s Day. And, with the warm weather in Florida, you’re almost guaranteed to have a great time at an empty Disney water park in January!

Thoughts:

This is the first year that Hollywood Studios has not announced any special bands or fireworks for New Year’s Eve! I am extremely shocked and honestly disappointed. It is due to the fact that Flurry of Fun runs through January 6th, 2019. After viewing the 6:30 PM fireworks at Epcot we used to hop on a boat near France that would take us to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and countdown to Midnight every single year! It was so exciting getting to go to 3 parks for New Year’s Eve and experiencing all that Disney had to offer! Hopefully they’ll bring back Hollywood Studios’ New Year’s Eve Special next year.
