Oogie Boogie Bash- A Disney Halloween Party is a special ticketed event held at Disney’s California Adventure on select nights September 17th – October 31st. Tickets are now SOLD OUT for ALL dates. The tickets are priced between $100 and $145.
Dates:
September: 17, 19 22, 24, 26, 29

Ride and Wristband Information:
The crowds are quite limited and 25 minutes was the longest line we saw! Wristbands are handed out when you walk in at the gate right before the event or near Wine Country Trattoria. The wristbands are either yellow or blue. The different colors coordinating which area you enter for Villainous! Blue is for the left near Pixar Pier and Yellow is for the right near Golden Zephyr (They may change colors for each party).

Paradise Gardens Park: Silly Symphony Swings, Goofy’s Sky School, Jumpin’ Jellyfish, Golden Zephyr, The Little Mermaid
Villainous:
This new, event exclusive show occurs at 9 PM and 10:45 PM where World of Color typically is. It is a great show that follows a young girl’s journey who discovers there’s a little villain in all of us!
Villains Grove:
The Villains Grove is an immersive trail with sound effects and projections that make guests feel as though they have been transported to each Villain’s grove. While there are no characters to meet and greet in this section, this section is a great themed area to explore right after the parade as that is when lines are the lowest.
Immersive Villain Treat Trails
There were 5 immersive Villain Treat Trails and these were a MAJOR highlight for me! Dr. Facilier’s trail is in Monsters, Inc., The Mad Hatter’s trail is in The Hyperion, Oogie Boogie’s trail is in the Animation Academy, The Evil Queen’s trail is near Grizzly Peak and Malificent’s trail is near Soarin’. While the villains do not take photos with guests , they do interact with them which creates amazing memories.
Treat Information:
There are a ton of spots to trick or treat and they are detailed on the event map so be sure to grab one as you walk in! Disney also hands out free treat bags so you can bring your own or use one of theirs. There are also allergy- friendly options and no sugar added treats upon request.
Frightfully Fun Parade:
The parade times are subject to change but we went on a Tuesday and the parade was at 8 PM. It begins near Goofy’s Sky School and the parade route is pictured below. Be sure to show up early to watch the Headless Horseman come through the route before the parade!
Annual Passholder Trail:
The Annual Passholder Trail is located next to Goofy’s Sky School where candy and a Oogie Boogie Bash magnet are handed out! Be sure to bring your Annual Passport and ID.
Dance Parties:
Mickey’s Trick and Treat is a dance party inside the Disney Theater near Carthay Circle.
DescenDANCE is a fun Descendants themed dance party at Hollywood Backlot across from Monsters, Inc.
Meet and Greet Information:
Classic Disney Friends: Carthay Circle

Tricks:
All parties are sold out. I would spend from 2/3 PM to 6 PM eating dinner and riding some rides. Then, at 6 PM, I would buy any party exclusive merchandise wanted including the gorgeous spirit jersey. After that, I like to go to the treat trails/dance party/character meet n greets. Right after the parade at 8 PM, I recommend going to the Villains Grove as that line can become quite long. I also recommend spending most of your time seeing rare characters/interacting with the villains in the immersive treat trails around the park to make the most of your event time. Go to the second showing of Villainous at 10:45 PM as that one is less crowded than the first.
Thoughts:
Oogie Boogie Bash- A Disney Halloween Party is an incredible event for the whole family! From the DescenDANCE party to the Villain’s Treat Trails, there is something for all ages. I would love to go back to Oogie Boogie Bash and spend even more time taking pictures with rare characters! I got to meet Pinocchio and the Blue Fairy towards the end of the night at the fountain outside of Carthay Circle which was incredible! If you love rare characters, villain experiences, TONS OF CANDY and Disney then this event is absolutely for you!
